Sorry, I guess I came off kind of odd huh? Blame it on the weather. I don't do well when it's below 50. :)
What I mean is that we haven't had an opportunity to really get to see what UT has had at an O&W game for many many years now. Flummo played two hand touch with Ruff so we all missed just how bad we were really gonna be. I just want to see us come out and actually look like a team that recruits will WANT to play for. I believe that we will, but Fulmer kind of jaded me. I'll believe it when I see it.

Good points. I quit going to O&W games long before I quit supporting Fulmer because they were insomnia clinics. It sounds like CLK plans for this year's affair to be a no-holds-barred affair. I still say though that I worry about major injuries on a team with very little depth. CLK is caught in a classic Catch-22 position. How else can he effectively and fairly evaluate his inherited players without seeing what they've got in a real competition? If he gets a lot of key people hurt he'll catch hell. If he doesn't allow the key players to play then he'll be called out for not living up to his word.

I plan on going down for the game and will be happy to donate my $5 to the cause (more if the kids come with me). I'm not sure what the O will look like, but I'm excited to see what the Ogre and Monte put out on the field.

CLK has said already that he will not pussyfoot around in the O&W game. There will be real live game situations, and no green jerseys.

I'll be there; I absolutely can't wait. I know we won't get like 92,000 like the trailor parks down south do, but I hope there is a good showing.

We would be able to get 92K, but they will only allow 50K, due to stadium construction, apparently.

Spring games are dog and pony shows - avoiding serious injuries is the main goal.

Monte Kiffin said on "The Animal" sports radio in an interview that the Spring Game would be a real game. That they were going to divide the squad as evenly as possible, with both having offense and defense and special teams, evenly divided. That it would be played under SEC rules with an SEC clock and SEC officials. No side would have more talent or experience than the other. They were going to get the band to dress in their informal whites (whatever that is) and make it a real event for the fans. If my doctors will let me i'm going to be there.

Hope that happens and is a big success. Players need to be used to the real time speed and not having their hands held all the way to fall practice.

Good idea on early ordering tix. I will be shocked if at least 50,000 don't show.

I might be up for something IV. I was considering going down on Friday night. BTW you were dead on about Crompton. Needless to say I'm a tad more cynical about his abilities these days.

Last year was the first O&W game I have missed in some time. I enjoy taking my grand kids and they enjoy the stadium. Every now and then my son is in town and gets to go with me. I take and have lots of pics of us on the field with the players. When the kids are older we can look at them together.
I have always have had one little one with me who just moves to the front of the line and gets us our autographs. I am now getting older and running out of babies to do this task.
If they are "only" letting 50K in, I want to presume we will have a full house. I want to see it happen. I want to see them actually play. I want to see who is stepping up. I want it talked about. Excitement and anticipation back to greet a new season.
It is fun again.

OK - Let me check and see if I can do the Friday thing. Give me a call sometime.
On Crompton, to put it bluntly, he simply doesn't have what it takes. He can't remember plays, he can't hand off, check off, read defenses, go through progressions, is innacurate, and can't lead us on any kind of sustained drive. I don't begrudge the guy, and I think it's unfair to put so much blame on him when he simply can't play the position. Kiffin will see that soon enough, if he hasn't already.

I will definitely be there. We had some discussion a month ago or so about getting the Monvols together for a tailgate party or something. Anyone interested in putting together something organized? I'll volunteer to help out.

Definately going to make the trip out for the O & W game and already making preperations for some trips for season games as well. Been a long time since I was in Neyland for a game. Oh, and I can't wait to be back in Neyland for a game. Its like being a kid on Christmas Eve, seeing all the presents and wondering whats inside them.

won't the game be replayed on CSS like most of the SEC teams' Spring Games have been for the last few years?
