The guy at A Truer Sound blog has started posting again and he's bringing out some of his great compilations for download ...

I have nearly everything this guy has made and it's all stellar. Download away people ...

A Truer Sound (http://atruersound.blogspot.com/)

Get the Scott Miller one to start .. the guy is from VA but was around K-town in the early to mid 90's with his group the V-roys. Knoxville can pretty much claim this guy as their own.

I'm sure he'll up his fabulous 90's Alt Country comps shortly ... there are 4 of those and they are simply OUTSTANDING listening.

For the Khan .. this guy is a huge Backsliders fan and has posted a bunch of his stuff in the past.

The Commonwealth is as good as the V-Roys (who owe a great deal of their sucess to Steve Earle)

IMO Miller has stuck with what worked for him years ago - same songs w/o moving on down the road al la S. Earle..

Even the greats recognize this - like M. Doucet/Beausoleil. The agin' Cajuns decided it was time to bring back the sound Cocteau rolled out 30 years ago - with a tremendous recording "Alligator Purse"... Listenin' to them do "Rollin & Tumblin' is mighty fine on the ears
