I had an edition of PhotoDeluxe by Adobe with my first color printer. It was pretty simple to use. Adobe discontinued it in 2002 and replaced it with Photoshop. I was able to get it to limp along with Win98 and Win 2000 but by XP it just bugged out too much.

I tried out a version of Photoshop. I always said it was like having an F-15 in my garage. Cool as hell and fun to look at but I have no idea how to fly it.

MS Paint will let you do some basic stuff but its trial and error because you won't get much instruction. Try Picasa maybe?

what do you use?

I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 (I think it is owned by Corel now). Easy to learn and not real expensive.

Another freebie is PhotoFiltre (yes, that's the correct spelling - it's FRENCH!). It's a little easier, to me at least, than the Gimp, and there is an English translation :bluepleased:
