after his experience at junior day

"I liked it a lot," the 6-foot-4, 275 pound McCoy said. "It impressed me and I thought it was a good place. I got to spend a lot of one on one time with the coaches and you can see their attitude to win. Their intensity also really stood out to me."

"(Monte) was the first person I saw," McCoy said. "He was just a good guy. He brings a lot of energy and his defense is really good. He's just a really great coach and I liked him."

"Coming in I didn't know very much," McCoy said. "I learned a lot. I learned about the history at Tennessee and what the new staff is trying to do. Tennessee is up there."

McCoy's father Gary made the drive with his son on Saturday. The elder McCoy not only wears the dad cap, but also Denzel's position coach. Having someone who has been around recruiting before helps said McCoy with the process.

He hopes to make a decision some time this summer.

"Their coaching staff is awesome"

Can't recall any recruit calling our previous coaching staff "awesome"

I'm trying to curb my enthusiasm and just be realistic about what the new staff can accomplish given the mess that CPF left. Still, I can not remember ever hearing this much buzz about our junior day. Am I the only one that thinks this staff will get us a Top 5 (or very close) recruiting class next year?

age. I keep seeing over and over recruits mentioning Monte's energy. And, the new staff's classes will be better evaluated and not just whoever we can get that has the most stars. So, most likely fewer busts. Pass the Kool Aid.

Regardless of his age, Monte seems to have more energy than most of Fulmer's assistants put together. In fact, he appears to have enough enthusiasm that Chavis would probably hate him for it.

IMO Monte has been one of our best recruiters so far. We don't get Myles without him.

I'm loving Monte so far. His personality is 10 times anyone on our previous staff.
