Matthews on his show this morning said he had been to Knoxville recently and from what he heard, he expected a couple of secondary violations to soon come to light. He alluded that one of them may be the coaches have been a little to "hands on" this offseason with instruction to the players during unsupervised workouts. He was not critical of the staff and said that most successful coaches push the envelope on the rules. If this has already been posted, I apologize.
Unlike some on here, I don't find Matthews to be a Fulmer lover.

He could commit 100 secondary violations and I wouldn't care. Reaves made some commits about USCe last week about finding ways to work around the rules. Only people that care are the anti-Kiffin media and the Pro Fulmer fans that refuse to wake up.

You can be sure Fulmer lovers will be jumping all over it though.

like this when his old buddy CPF was the head man. It is sad the Fulmer fans both in the media and over on VolChat who want Kiffen to fail. Again, these losers hitched their wagon to a football coach instead of a football program, and they should all be ashamed. If this were the military, these losers would be shot for treason.

It's a TOTAL non-issue...why shine a light on it? Unless you are one of Fulmer's Boys or an Opponent SEC Program. Mathews is a HUGE Fulmer Shill

equates to a slap on the wrist then I hope we have more than anybody else, because the only reason we are having these secondary violations is because this staff cares about one thing...WINNING! Who gives a shit if they continue to bring in big time players and start winning big time games.

Matthews was just giving a heads up on what is coming down the road, and hinted that this will be reported by UT in a week or two. I don't think the media will ignore anything the Kiffin has done that might be a rules violation, given the track record so far.
Again, Matthews was not shilling for Fulmer, and was supportive of Kiffin. He thought most successful coaches pushed for an advantage any way they can. He was complimentary of the staff not just as recruiters, but as teachers, and said player development had been lacking at some positions by certain members of Fulmer's staff the past few years.

self reporting - secondary violations of NCAA rules - just about an everyday event.

That loser cost us the 89 national championship with his pathetic defense. Luckily Majors fired him immediately. Matthews is a pure joke, and sucks as bad in the media as he did coordinating the 89' defense.

Make no mistake....Mathews is a Fulmer backer.
He is merely covering his ass so he maintains a job in the media.

Did Matthews get the axe after the Siran Stacey show in B'ham?

To this day I can still hear the damn Legion Field announcer saying over and over "Siran Stacey at left end" ringing in my head.

Matthews got the ax with about 30 seconds to go in the winning seconds of the 89' Cotton Bowl win vs Arkansas. One of my all time favorite games. Majors thanked him for costing him a national championship and told him that he will not be back next year.
